ever cant decide on what you want for your car?

my 66. had a bench seat originally, when I sold my 68 el camino, I pulled the buckets and console out, put the 66 bench seat in it and sold as a bench seat car. Buckets and a console doesnt bring the price up for a driver el camino, so it made more sense to sell the console and put the buckets in the chevelle. A year later, my new 66 el Camino has a nice bench seat, so when in sold the el camino, I saved the guy a few bucks and sold it without a seat (his kid wanted race buckets) and the bench goes into the chevelle.
So today is a nice day, drove the 66 around and not liking the bench, swap the seats to the buckets again and store the bench so I can reinstall it maybe in a year?
I do this with wheels and tires too. jim

Yep. Particularly thinking about swapping from Cragars to plain steel wheels soon.

I'm trying to decide if I want a floor ratchet shifter vs the column shift. I have a bench seat.

Your just jealous because you can't hear the voices!

keep the cragars to change back later, then find some centerlines, slots, etc.

I had 15" Cragars on my 67. When Coker came out with the RF70-14 red line tires, I bought 4 YW rally's and painted the out lip black and the rest of the wheel silver. I had the wheel covers that originally came on the car, so I change between the trim ring's and center cap's and the wheel covers. Two different looks for the price of one.

Re: ever cant decide on what you want for your car?

I too am kind of a wheel whore. Every year or so. Right now I have two sets that I swap back and forth between. There have been times Iíve had 4 sets. Wheels really change the look of a car.
I donít keep tires on them all. I move the tires from one set of rims to the others. Americaís Tire charges me $20 each to dismount, remount and balance each wheel.
Someone should start a wheel sharing program! Air Wheel and Wheel or something.

I've got 2 sets of drag lites, 1 set of centerlines, a set of the 71 5 spoke SS wheels and the torque thrust d. sold the last set of corvette ralleys but im sure if another set pops up cheap enough I'll get them. I'd love to find a set of 15 inch slot mags to complete the collection and maybe another set of the 200S daisies that I should have kept. jim

The line of thinking in this thread is the very reason I have spent $300,000 in a quest to have a $30,000 car

Ainít that the truth.

Iím currently trying to convince my brother to buy an older truck that someone else has already restomoded rather than have one built. He lives in Panama and wants it for a daily driver. I have a found a few nice trucks with LS power in the $30k range that look like the guys have spent $70-80k on.

I would be like all of that and more, if I had a bit more spare room and cash.

Re: ever cant decide on what you want for your car?

Jim, do what I did. My Chevelle has buckets, console and a 4 speed. My 56 210 has a bench, and a 700R4 column shift. Drive what you fell like any given day.

Re: ever cant decide on what you want for your car?

I have put 6 different sets of wheels on my car, and am considering another set for drag racing, and depending on how the 200TW autocross tire war shapes up, maybe a 3rd set for racking up street miles without killing the autocross tires. I have also put 4 engines in the car, 3 transmissions, 4 rear axles with 5 different ratios, and 3 complete suspension/brake setups.

No, I don't know what you're talking about.
