Re: How much does your car weigh

You probably want Chevelle weights.
I never weighed my Chevelle.
I have weighed many of my cars usually hauling off scrap iron in the trunks and get the weight.
I have scrapped since before I was driving.

1982 Mustang inline 6 cylinder no carpet 2,740.
1977 Delta 88 Indy pace car 350 Olds engine 3,820.
1977 TA 400" pontiac with back seat converted to speakers. 3,840.
1964 ElCamino 350" TH 350 air and power steering RPM intake 3,840.
1956 Chevy 4 door Belair 200" inline 6 ford with C4 transmission 3,190.
1947 dodge truck 6 foot bed Pinto suspension front and 9" truck rear with truck springs. 350" engine TH350 trans.
3,176
1957 Chevy 4 door with 15" steel wheels 350" TH 350 No inner fenders and glass front bumper 9" ford with added chevy truck leaf springs 3,450.

1984 Ford E150 conversion van with 4" lift 302" and AOD Lots of seats and curtains 6000 lbs with tools.
I could drop 400 lbs by removing spare tire and tools and some seats.

I did get my 78 Nova down to 2,780 I never weighed it when stock.
These weights are without driver.

Re: How much does your car weigh

My 1965 Chevelle weighs about 3780-3800 pounds Full Tank of gas no driver and here is what it has.
540 BBC Dart aluminum heads, turbo 400 GV overdrive (add about 35 pounds), headers, full 3.5 inch exhaust out the back, aluminum manifold and WP, fiberglass hood (save 35 pounds), full interior, full 8 point cage (adds like 100 pounds), tool box in trunk (say 10 pounds), no spare tire, 12 bolt rear, 12 inch impala brakes, 15 x 8 and 15 x 10 aluminum wheels with radial tires on them (I think any weight savings from a OEM steel vs aluminum wheel is more than offset by the much bigger wheels and tires). Power steering and NO AC. I think I did a front and rear weight measurement on it and it was like 57 / 43 or so front to rear.

My 2006 Z06 Corvette is about 3,180 pounds full tank of gas has a few things that sort of add and subtract weight but overall not a big delta from OEM weight. Corvette was pretty much 50/50.

Re: How much does your car weigh

My 64 weighs in at 3241 - The pic of the scales computer tells the rest of the story.

FWIW - I did a posting on how to set up your Autocross car a couple of years ago. That is here...

That's is heavy for a 65. My entirely stock L79 coupe with half a tank of gas and me sitting in it (about 175) weighs only 3380. No power steering, no power brakes no AC. That's with steel 69 SS wheels, spare and jack in the trunk.

My 2006 GTO is really fat at 3960 with me in it, 3/4 tank of gas and only about 10-15 pounds of weight reduction from stock though it dose have headers instead of exhaust manifolds. That is almost as much as my 69 C10 shortbox which comes in right at 4000. I haven't weighed the wagon yet.

Here is a chart for all Chevelle's broken down by engine and body style. It also adds individual options

Re: How much does your car weigh

Iíve seen that list before. Itís got a lot of useful data.
But it doesnít show a lot of mods our 50ish year old cars now have.

66 Chevelle hardtop - LFX 3.6 liter V6/6L50 6 speed auto trans, 3.07 10 bolt, full Hotchkis suspension, Wilwood 4 wheel discs, white with red interior, cowl hood.

I agree, I may get it weighed again. Though if you look at that chart above it may not be that far off. I am sure it is no less than 3,700 pounds though - full tank. The stuff just seems to add up.

Re: How much does your car weigh

My Ď67 weighs 3675 without me in it, 1/2 tank of gas.

540: Dart Big M, AFR heads, 32 inch wide aluminum radiator, power steering, hydraboost brakes, 3.5 inch X pipe exhaust , full interior, no air, Ricks SS 20 gallon tank with sump.

About the only way to remove weight now is remove the rear seat.
