It’s been a while since I’ve seen a “good” movie

Good might be a stretch, but it’s very enjoyable to me.

Warren Oates in the GTO was pretty good in it too. Never really liked the GTO color much.
Guess I'm going to have to go watch it tonight instead of the BS politics on youtube, which has been a real show as of late.

I probably break it out a little more often than that, maybe every five years lol

My friends and I drop quotes from the movie all the time lol

It’s awkward when we do it, even more awkward when we’re in front of non-car people.

I know what you mean, it’s not like the movie has much acting, dialogue, or plot to get in the way.

Even so, I’m left yearning for a sequel.

American Graffiti is a much better car movie and has a real story line. And you get to see the same car!

Re: It’s been a while since I’ve seen a “good” movie

Some of the best car movies had terrible acting, weak plots, and crummy dialogue. It's part of what makes them great. John Carpenter should have used cool cars in his movies. They'd be classics.

There were 2 American Graffiti movies. More American Graffiti was the second one, while not nearly as good as the first it was still pretty good.

Re: It’s been a while since I’ve seen a “good” movie

I always prefer older films to newer ones. The main reason is, today they find a person with a severe case of Parkinson disease and hand them the camera. I'm not sure what happened to holding the dang camera still while filming.

2 L B is a favorite from time to time.

Re: It’s been a while since I’ve seen a “good” movie

Stephen King's movie "Christine" (or should I say John Carpenter's movie from Stephen King's book) is one of my favorites, and has both good acting and a decent plot. It might or might not be considered a "car movie" although there are some cool old cars in it.

Not 'Christine' cars, but we saw these today while offroading. First one is a '58 Belvedere
