Re: Car flipper screws himself.

I completely get it. I too would rather throw something away than sell it on craigslist.

It really comes down to what damage to your brain does craigslist scammers, time wasters, no shows, and low ballers.

I lien it to OJ. What he did war really wrong, but I get it.

Couple of junkers and a few clunkers.

Re: Car flipper screws himself.

What an asshat. Maybe the guy that wanted the car destroyed was drunk. Just doesn't make sense. There has to be an alternate story. Maybe his ex wanted half his sh#t, so he gave her half of that scrap fee. Who knows? We all know a normal person wouldn't do that.

Got to be more to this story, hook line and sinker, is what most who have commented have bitten on. Or his YouTube channel is full of this stuff and he’s making a killing having fun. Hell a certain TV show destroyed hundreds of them, in the end his property his loss.

I agree. The object of many YouTube videos is to get advertising money. That is based on views.

We all just upped the view count.

Re: Car flipper screws himself.

He has probably made significantly more that the car was worth from YouTube. I remember seeing a video about how the monetization works and it is about $6,000 per 1 million views. He is way above that at this point.

Re: Car flipper screws himself.

At $4,200 it was likely, and appeared to be, a rust bucket that would only be of interest for parts (front bumper?) or a Graveyard Carz episode. Being a 383 car the cost of restoration would greatly exceed its value when completed. That dope overpaid for it and couldn't find a greater fool to buy it from him.

Maybe they made that much at one time, now its significantly less. There are some sites such as socialblade that track metrics for YouTube channels, with some searching you can find a brief overview of what advertisers will pay for. Since he swore so much, this video probably isnt monitized at all.

Re: Car flipper screws himself.

The video in the original post was hosted by Autoblog and not YouTube. So getting monetization for the views here will likely not happen. The same video is hosted at several other sites, diluting his traffic at YouTube. To make real money at youtube one needs to crank out a lot of videos. One or more per week of at least 5 minutes will get you started , according to the youtubers who talk about such things. As stated, the language barrier has been broken by this one. Doing this car smash video will not yield much. So he is still out some real money.

What's really funny...

He just removed another one from the stock. Meaning, he just made every other one worth a little more.
