Car dealership used car policy

Hey guys wanted to get a idea of what you guys think of this policy. Its a used car policy. The policy is this

1. If you dont have a trade...you get charged $750.00.

2. If you dont finance with the dealership...you get charged $750.00.

3. If you have something that needs reconditioned like a buff job or you need tires on your trade....you get charged $750.00

Opinions on this policy?

My opinion - go elsewhere and avoid this dealership.

That would be the particular dealer policy, not an industry standard if its a line item on the purchase agreement.

I would immediately drop any offer on any car I was trying to purchase from them by an additional $750...

Re: Car dealership used car policy

if someone is too lazy to sell their car themselves, i see no problem charging them a premium for their trade. what are they going to do about it? walk away and go complain on facebook? i doubt that.

Re: Car dealership used car policy

I would tell them to phuck off. A dealer isnt giving you a good deal with or w/out a trade. Then they have the balls to charge more for a non trade in? No way.

Re: Car dealership used car policy

Unless this particular dealership is selling me the same car for $2,250.00 less than I can buy it anywhere else then they are cutting their own throats. Too many other places/ ways to buy a car to sign up for that and people wonder why folks like me don't trust dealerships.

Here is my take on this, go somewhere else, tell them to take a flying f**k on a rolling dounut. Dealers are just scammers, I worked for them 25 years and never met too many honest sales people. The last car my son bought I was there and the sales donkey hated that and tried to sell him all kinds of crap he did not need until I put a stop to it then I told the guy who I was and what I did. My son still bought the car but the sales staff really hated me. If I were to buy something new again I would go to the mom and pop dealers they need the business and seem to care a little more.

Re: Car dealership used car policy

Of the three fees you initially mentioned, only the recondition fee is out of line. The others are incentives, that you donít get if you donít have a trade in or finance through them.

Re: Car dealership used car policy

In my humble opinion, unless you live somewhere where this Dealer is the "Only Game In Town" and you don't have internet access, I can see absolutely no reason to do business with these people.

Re: Car dealership used car policy

The $995 dealer fee for a used car that is not included in the price is outrageous (IMHO.)

Even new car dealers (at least in my area) don't gouge that badly.
