66 Wiper Arms and Blades?

Maybe This should be in chevelle tech but I mostly looking for opinions from the folks who care.

I know some 66s Came with brushed finish looking arms and winged no lift blades.
However some searching here it seems mixed as to if some 66s came with polished arms or not? Or was it a law to have brushed arms in 66?
And if some also came with a brushed non winged style of blade and the winged style of blade from different factorys?

Its time for me to decide what arms...I have brushed arms and I have polished arms in my parts stash.
I also have the brushed no lift winged style blades.
And I also have brushed non winged style blades.

Polished arms look nice but probably not with a brushed blade?
I also see they now make black arms and blades aftermarket that crossed my mind but my car is very stock looking and I think I have ruled out black.

I think I am going to go with brushed arms and the no wing style brushed blades...

Not many close up pictures I could find here on the site.
Any close up pictures or opinions of some arms and blades on the second gen chevelles could be helpful to me... Decisions Decisions!

That's what I would do.

67 model year cars got the brushed arms. ALL 66 got the polished arms and both Trico and Annco supplied arms and blades

Re: 66 Wiper Arms and Blades?

I just used the Ground Up arms on my 66. Currently I am buying the blades to refill with from them also, as the zone does not seem to have any old style refills or blades.

66 Malibu Coupe, home rebuilt 350. Took me 39 years to get her!

The information I have sourced says brushed arms and brushed blades in 66. Mandated by federal law for 66. 65 was the last year for polished. 66 used flat arms with TRICO stamped on each end. And also the ANCO arms from some plants. In 67 the arm style changed. Actually 3 different styles used. 66 Trico arms are hard to find as the corvette guys want them. I have not seen that style reproduced. I can take photos and send them to you Dan along with photo of original nos rubbers.

Re: 66 Wiper Arms and Blades?

'66 wiper arms were a combination of brushed and polished as seen in pix from a true survivor SS. The base, or "fatter" part, is brushed and the bar to the blade holder is polished.

Re: 66 Wiper Arms and Blades?

So what about the blades Bill, brushed or polished?

As I understand it you are saying the arms were made such that the fatter part with the two rives was bushed; but the narrow part is polished. Wouldn't the manufacture have used up his inventory when making the arms and then have gone to all bushed?
