Re: This guy. .

Stuff like that will eventually affect most the guys selling #s cars, how can you really pay for it knowing it could be a well faked stamp.
None of that stuff ever made sense to me, its either a 350, 396 or its not. Drives the same?

Sold a couple #s cars yrs ago it never made a bit of difference meaning bring more money.

Interesting post.

Oh no! A measuring contest on FaceBook? Let me guess, some guy(s) that think they know everything called out some guy(s) that don't know as much. And in the in, the guy(s) that think they know more "slam" the other guy(s) and ask other guys to look at what they did.

Re: This guy. .

Honestly Iím sure this has been going on for a while... if it is faked and looks like the real deal only person who would know is shop doing it and person having them do it, is it fraud yes but if the shop and person who has it done donít sell the car as numbers matching and state clone it is not on them, it is on the person who later on calls it a numbers car.

My concern was him/the sellers knowingly passing on a fake at auction. The engine he's selling clearly states the changes.

Re: This guy. .

It's been going on in the early car circles since these Chevelle's were still on the dealers' lots. I'd bet at least half of the supposed 1909 Model Ts have faked later blocks.

100% correct, there is a reason that the stereo typical used car sales man is sleazy it’s because it’s true. For the most part this applies to all car sales man, private and businesses.

Terry, are you saying that you couldn't disagree more that it's not fraud? IMHO, it's definitely fraud. It's faking something that is more valuable. Even if the creator of the fake disclosed his fraud, it's still an item designed to trick someone into believing it's something that it's not. The end result of that is someone's going to be ripped off by a fraudulent item.
