I get putting the V8 into it, but the wood paneling and the black hood stripes have got to go:

Re: 1980 Pinto Wagon...

I think the wood paneling makes the car, you can have the hood stripes. Woody wagons are just cool no matter the car.

Re: 1980 Pinto Wagon...

x2 on the stripes....woulda left the scoop and tunnel ram unpainted also

Dig the woodgrain thats pure 70s cheese love it.

The original dash/shifter would be even better.

Id imagine some tying the front end into the cage would sure help but still a neat ride.

Agreed, pull that wimpy 289 out and drop in a 6.0 LS with an 88mm Turbo and let it eat................

Re: 1980 Pinto Wagon...

That 289 can really surprise a few folks if built right. To me, that's what we saw back in the day. Always ran the high winding 289s in a light car. I'd like to see an earlier front clip on it though. Ol Skool Cool!

Re: 1980 Pinto Wagon...

I have to agree... the Mac Tac wood grain is what makes the car look like a novelty.
Better if it was a Vega wagon. Always liked them more.
I had a stock 1980 V8 Monza Spyder. Yep that's how they spelled it too....Very Cheesy. I bent the front end due to the torque.
It was like a mini Camaro.
Always getting into a street race and usually with 302 Mustang II's
Fun car but Not a fun one to drive and use on a regular basis.
