Weird Friday the thirteenth

My El Camino has sitting unloved in my driveway for 14 months, suffering from severe neglect. A knock at the door is from a guy who wants to know if it for sale. Of course! He is on the clock and will be back in an hour. So, I put gas in the carb and fire it up for the first time in over a year. Fifteen minutes later a truck pulls in the driveway with a guy who wants to know if it for sale. Of course! We agree on a price and he hands me some cash . Another 30 minutes later the first potential buyer returns. When it rains it pours.

Re: Weird Friday the thirteenth

The buyer picked it up today.
Now I have to figure out how to get rid of all the odd related parts collected over the years. A lot of the stuff like Qjets and HEIs are no longer junkyard parts, but still do have some value to the older car hobby guys.

Jeff any el camino parts????? You did see I just picked up a 70 el camino right? I bet it would have made much more sense to buy yours vs cobbling my 70 back together again. Jim

Re: Weird Friday the thirteenth

I gave him a lot of stuff like window glass and door panels and interior trim. I think I may have a few bits of el camino specific parts like door panel tops . Most of what I have is qjets, HEI's , cylinder heads and covers, and some 4 spoke steering wheels. There are some of the GM aluminum intake manifolds that are not corroded out yet. Also there are some sets of engine accessory brackets, pulleys and related stuff like AC compressors. There is also a pair of disk brake spindles with brackets and tinware, too. The storage shed probably holds more secrets. I think there is a ten bolt 3.08 gearset with all the internals. And the list goes on. I am mostly interested in getting the storage space back and not all that much interested in money, so it will be cheap (a lot will be free). Stay in touch, as I will try to bring it out in a heap to look at.

Re: Weird Friday the thirteenth

Good plan, Jim.
I had no intention of making a "for sale" post. I am not going to ship anything anywhere and most of the stuff will be given away to locals. Or sold to the lowest local bidder.

Put a ad in the free section of Craigslist the stuff will be gone in hours. Got any pictures of your El Camino.

Re: Weird Friday the thirteenth

Big Thank You! to jeff! went and helped clean his shed a little. Resisted trying to take everything. Fun to hang out and talk to a person vs typing to each other. Hopefully someone else can use some of the parts, if not, I'll br happy.to come back and pick up the rest of your unwanted stuff. Thanks again! jim

Interesting concept, "sold to the lowest bidder"
