Not sure I would spend this kind of money on this particular vehicle.

Me either… It's a very high quality build but then again, I'm not convinced that I'd like to actually own a car like that…

Re: Custom 1959 Cadillac

You certainly have to respect the excellent craftsmanship that went into this car. However, I am not all that keen on the finished product. That thing must have cost a medium size fortune to construct. And who knows what kind of price it would bring at auction? Buyers for such a thing must be few I would think. The current owner will likely keep it for a very long time.

I saw that car in person at the Good Guys show in Del Mar in April. It was in a vendors booth. It's very well built, but I wouldn't know what to do with it.

The ONLY Cadillac that I feel is cool, is Billy Gibbon's ZZ TOP'S Cadzilla.
That's a cool Cad!
The rest of them? NOPE.

Sell it and buy 10 cars you WANT?

Neat car, but I could take 10% of what was spent on that and make my '66 REAL nice.

Re: Custom 1959 Cadillac

Dang.... and I know a person that owns one of those 100. Here is Glen Durmisevich - lead designer of the SSR and his Eldorado Brougham.

As the story goes, even at 13,000, GM was still selling the car at a loss.

You guys are missing the point. That car is a riddler car. It's not about money. It's not about what you would do with it. It's about building the most over the top car with the absolute best craftsmanship you can put into your car. Nothing more, nothing less. It's the prestige of winning.

Amazing looking car. Very unique body style! Sometimes I suspect the guys getting these cars built are rolling in $ and the cost is inconsequential... but I also know guys with Great 8 cars that really just built one they wanted and the fabricators went over the top... these guys are aren't poor... but it's not purely throw away money for them they just chased a dream car!
