How sure are you that it isn't a fake/plastic mock-up engine & trans? We need some pics!
I'm planning to keep an eye on this thread to see how you guys end up getting it down from there too

I honestly think thatís the major reason he called; to help get it down. Which after pics I may be looking for suggestions.
He said he thought it looked like small block Chevy but heís not a car guy so the only reference is the 350 in his boat. It could be anything. He did say itís pretty dirty so probably not a plastic mock-up.
Pics either way, I promise.

I'll be part of the retrieval team! I'm in NY, so I'll be a little late to the party - save me a beer and some pizza.

Re: Engine and transmission in the attic

I'm feeling the same anticipation as I did when Jeraldo Rivera opened Al Capone's vault. I might have to call in sick tomorrow with a wild case of anxiety.

This thread is like looking at one of those auctions at a storage place where they sell off the contents of a storage locker sight unseen. Pure suspense all the way.

This will definitely be more exciting than the time they cracked the safe from the Andrea Doria on TV.

Re: Engine and transmission in the attic

My bet: it is a one of a kind GM Engineering test mule that was destined to be scrapped but was removed thru the back door on the third shift. The guy who saved it died and his son in law got the motor but he was afraid of the fact that in reality it was stolen so........................................

Oh yeah, as mentioned earlier it must be a prototype destined for use only in the Corvette but the bean counters at GM cancelled the development effort just as tests showed 500+ HP and 550 Lb / Ft numbers on the test stand from a 305 CI titanium block.

I just LOVE these nonsense stories people cook up and spread around.
