Re: Praying for Chuck Frame

I met Chuck back in 2001 while staying at a motel near Oshawa for the GM Autoplex show. This was back in my drinking days. There were a bunch of Chevellers present and there was a sense of urgency in draining liquor bottles. Oh the humanity. The next day Chuck's black '67 was looking absolutely flawless. If Chuck was feeling hung over he certainly wasn't complaining.

Meanwhile I was hung over and I almost felt like a creature of the night. It was the morning after when I met our old buddy Shai (ChaosMalibu), just over from Israel. And here I am, hung over, wearing a dorky T-shirt and my daugher's Winnie The Pooh backpack. The look shouted "Special Needs".

The last time I ran into Chuck was at a Route 66 cruise in Scarborough about 2 or maybe 3 years ago. He had just gotten his blue '69. Since that time I broke my wrist badly & it took me out of the scene for better than a year. Since that time Chuck picked up a beautiful Danube blue '66 that I was looking forward to seeing in person.

This is so sad to hear. It sounded like Chuck had really hit his stride and had much to look forward to.

Damn, why does this horrible disease seem to pick victims from the pool of the finest people? I hate that F'ing disease!

My Thoughts and Prayers go out to his Family. Some people are popular with others for a reason, just because of who they are. Chuck was one of those people.

Cam, that pic reminds me of a funny story from around that time frame. I met up with Chuck at a cruise night where he had brought the '67 with young Ryan. They pulled in and parked beside a '67 427 Vette belonging to a friend of his. He told Ryan to be very careful opening the door so as not to hit the other car....

Well, Ryan just swung the door open and whack....luckily the edge of the door hit the door handle on the Vette, no damage. Chuck was laughing/furious and relieved all at the same time!

I am glad that Chuck got to see our devotion to the marque and also to the appreciation of the Chevelle marque and to home-spun mechanics.

Chuck was devoted, let me tell you..
