Re: This debate came up today... What year is the best looking?

Iíve always been partial to the 68. Now that thereís finally one in my garage, Iím even more partial to that year. Theyíre all great. Every model year has great stuff and every model year has some not so great stuff. I dig the 68 because of the body style, the key still in the dash, vent windows, etc. Just one manís opinion. Again, theyíre all great.

I like two the best, one has a Ford in the rear view mirror and the other has a Mopar in it's rear view mirror.

Re: This debate came up today... What year is the best looking?

For me, it's 1967. So why do I have two '68s?

Because when I ordered a new '67 L79 Malibu way back then.....well, that whole story has been told a few times right here.....

When I works, I works hard.
When I sits, I sits loose.
When I thinks, I falls asleep.

67 Imho is the best looking, something about the grill and sail panels are damn sexy. But I do like my 70 also.

Re: This debate came up today... What year is the best looking?

This debate will never be settled. I think some people confuse popularity with most attractive or best looking. My 2 bits is the 1970 SS 454 LS6 is such an iconic car that it makes that year very popular.

However, 1968 is the best looking. Youíve got a V nose with angular profile, the rounded rear quarter windows. The very stylish horizontal taillights that merge with the tail panel. Now add to that itís one of the last all metal cars without a bunch of plastic, like grille. Iíve never had a Ď68 but would like to have one.

People donít like to have to think in high resolution. Jordan Peterson. Thatís why we are forced in to so many binary choices.

Re: This debate came up today... What year is the best looking?

In this order, from best to no such thing as worst:
1. Tie between 1966 and 1967
2. 1969
3. 1965, but its gotta be a L79
4. 1970
5. Tie between 1971 and 1972
6. 1968
7. 1964

Re: This debate came up today... What year is the best looking?

69 was the last year they used "styling".

Everything after that was just put together so it fit.

Re: This debate came up today... What year is the best looking?

Oh this came up today? This comes up every day and has been covered 9,567,343 times on this site and basically every other Chevelle related site since 1997.

Its completely subjective.

I used to be obsessed with the 70-72 when I first got into this hobby 15+ years ago, but now I prefer the 1966-67. They are more classy inside and out and they have more personality than the bloated 70-72s.

1969.

I don't care for the 1/4 windows and plastic dash on a '70... the frontend looks kinda dorky too.... not a fan of the tail lights either..

69, 67, 64 in that order. Just my two cents. 69 they really made it perfect. The 1970-72's just look too "bloaded" in my opinion. They'll look nice with beefy meats.. but 69 is my favorite. And no, it's not because I own one.. because my second favorite car is either a 69 Camaro or 70 Cuda.. maybe Im a little biased LOL
