Sales Tax Now? Ugh!

Has anyone noticed the new law as of June 2019 that anywhere you order online for most states, now will be charged sales tax? That was such a huge benefit to ordering online.. Ugh. now that T56 upgrade will cost an EXTRA $400 ish. Oh well.

Is the rate based on where you live or where the part was ordered from? The sales tax rate where I live is 10%. It makes buying items on the secondary market that much more appealing.

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

That party has been mostly over for a while for big sellers, or if the seller does business in the state where you live.

True for a seller that has brick & mortar buildings in this state, but not so much for "most" of those that don't. I was always selective.

Interested to see how Tirerack handles it. Their only advantage was no sales tax. Honestly the money in tax I spend at discount tire stays in my community.

People don’t like to have to think in high resolution. Jordan Peterson. That’s why we are forced in to so many binary choices.

Was fun while it lasted. Should make the playing field more level for brick and mortar establishments. Will be a kick in the balls for Amazon. They used to be cheaper. Not anymore and they won't price match.

Re: Sales Tax Now? Ugh!

On-line sellers started collecting sales tax several months back in Washington...9 frigging % in my corrupt county. The question now is, what will the states, counties and cities that benefit from this windfall...certain to be worth hundreds of millions, if not billions in some states, do with this money? One thing is certain, they won't want to admit they are getting ever richer as we are getting ever poorer.

Your transfer dealer is to collect it when you pick up your 2A exercise machine.

At these gas prices I want it 100+ octane, leaded, and my windshield washed!

Nope.
My LGS does transfers for free and will not collect any sales tax from an out of state purchase.
