wife loves me , new toy.

we have a farm with some full size Case rigs but wanted something small for around the house, and did not want to spend a fortune. While looking she found this "left over" from last year and my wife broke down and paid the dealer off ( gotta a love her)

I was surprised on how nice it is, plenty of power, no problem spinning all 4 tire.

she ended up getting it for $8000 less then the other "orange" and "green" guys wanted for their version , and it outperforms them.

Re: wife loves me , new toy.

My wife would love a little loader tractor for the yard. Scares me to think of all the little "projects" she'd come up with for it..... already have about 10,000 flowerbeds to mow/trim around. I wouldn't complain if she bought me a 200HP MFWD tractor, though. lol

Nice rig! Funny how some "paint" is much more expensive than others.

Looks like fun. Now you can get some heavy lifting done around the house. I'm envious.

It's a reality that different parts from all manufacturers are globally sourced. It's also a fact that India and China companies assemble some of their products here in the USA. I would rather support a company that was founded and is still based in the USA. I prefer green paint on my tractors. There is no disrespect intended towards your purchase Mike. I'm sure Mahindra is a quality product. I just prefer to do business with American companies when possible. And yes I'm willing to pay a little more for that color of paint.

Re: wife loves me , new toy.

I just picked up a lightly used- less than 100hrs, Kubota L2501 w quick attach FEL. Also has extended factory warranty thru 2024. Saved about $12k off buying new.. These compacts are nice tractors!

Nice purchase!

Re: wife loves me , new toy.

My wife is still complaining about the money I spent on mine.

I was looking at new compacts, but ended up going with an older pre-electronics and pre-emissions New Holland with low-hours and great condition. It's a 1996 with 500hrs, but I was able to get quite a bit bigger tractor for the money, with the durability of a real heavy duty farm tractor without the plastic and computers. This thing will outlast me!

Nice rig, Derek! I hear you on the pre- stuff...nothing but a royal PITA! I still love my old '66 Ford tractor with lots of hours. Does everything I need to do whenever I ask!

Re: wife loves me , new toy.

Thanks Duke, mine is basically the last evolution of the old Ford 4000 that came out in 1965. Over the years they improved the hydraulics and added the shuttle-shift and MFWD options, but it's still very much an over-built heavy duty 1965-designed tractor. My only complaint is it's as loud as you'd expect a 1965 3cyl diesel to be. Finding one with low-hours and in like-new condition wasn't easy or cheap though.

Re: wife loves me , new toy.

We've had several of those 3 cylinder Ford diesels on the farm over the years. They just go and go. Yeah.... they are a bit loud, but that is the little engine that could. Gobs of torque and start good in the winter.

I agree on buying USA stuff when possible . My big block has ALL usa made parts except for the intake. Im x military and have a red white and blue flag in my front yard. This tractor is japan base with mitsubishi driveline. the FEL is made in the US. Some green tractors use Yanmar and Kawasaki engines and they do use parts from their Chinese plants on some US tractors. I think the orange tractors have the most made in USA parts

We looked at the green tractors, ( in this size) and the quality wasn't there at any price. plastic body parts, cast aluminum instead of steel rears. , no universal "bobcat" bucket mount etc. We have green tractors ( and tan) at the 100 HP range in our family. The larger stuff tend to be better but the mid/ low tier stuff is ( to my personal opinion only )lacking. Their customer service is top notch second to none.

Off topic funny story. Years ago I was involved in a classified project, to hide the equipment and be funny we painted some handling equipment JD green and put their stickers on it. The equipment they handle were named after porn stars, linda lovelace, happy hooker etc.

Re: wife loves me , new toy.

Mahindra was founded and is headquartered in India. As I stated above, I'm sure it is a quality product. I also stated that ALL manufacturers source parts globally.
