9738 copo

My buddy just added a Gibb-Harrell "68 COPO NOVA" to his collection, needs a resto and he's just the guy that can do it.Sent me some pic's,but I'm waiting to see it in person,he should be home with it today.I didn't know a lot about these cars till I did some research and found out some of the details and how rare they are, espesially the 400 trans, first one behind a solid lifter engine. Not a Chevelle, but pretty neat.

I'm about a half hour from Laharpe Illinois, former home of Fred Gibb. They used to have an annual car show in his name but it's just the annual car show now. I love those old novas

Annie and Ray's COPO Novas. Both are great people!

Would LOVE to see some pics of this car!

A '68-'70 L78 or COPO Nova is still on my bucket list.....

I went to that show for a couple of years, back when it was the Fred Gibb show. I'm just across the river in Iowa. Saw some amazing stuff, Dick Harrell Chevelle, tons of Camaros, it was a great show. What happened to it?

It's my understanding his Daughter wanted money to use his name. I'll have to ask some friends who show cars to double check.

It wasn't Gibbs daughter, it was Harrells daughter. That is a fact.

Re: 9738 copo

I remember seeing one of these at a swap meet in Cedar Rapids, IA in the late-90s for about $20k. It was pretty rough unrestored car, red w/ black interior IIRC Gibb COPO L78/TH400.

I thought the price was crazy at the time.
