guy down the street have a 48 cj2a, complete, not sure if it runs. do these have much value? it's got the flathead 4, he selling it for 1500 bucks with a title. I'm sure any d car is a money pit, but would these make a quick flip if I can get it running? jim

Re: old jeep guys? cj2a

Nope. Selling an old jeep is tough. Bought my '70 CJ5 running and driving for $1500 because it was all stock and complete. If it was modded for play, it'd be worth a little more depending if they were quality updates. Just look at your local CL for old jeeps, there's probably no shortage and they've most likely been listed for some time.

I talked to a buddy that had a 1950s jeep. he said $2500 it will sell if running and sell pretty quick. but its gotta have decent tires and be cosmetically decent. jim

Hell yeah they have value, that is a Willis. Many military restoration people looking for real ones, and not a replacement tub. It is called a J2, nth a cj. They are a little small, but have good value.

I'm helping his neighbor with a truck Monday after work, going to step over and look at it afterwards. jim

Re: old jeep guys? cj2a

went and looked. it's all there but rust in the floors, rust where the spare tire carrier was, frame looks good, has a warn hub, seats are toast, converted to a 12 volt generator, motor turns over. tires look great but 9 years old. he has a 46 parts jeep for a additional 500 bucks.
I dont know keeps but I think the first one is worth 500 bucks, clear title, good windshield. I think I'll pass. jim
