Re: Say Goodbye To GM Sedans

I bought a new Ranger truck as a commuter (35 highway miles each way) in 1997. It was a long bed with a 4.0 V6, 5-speed and 8.8 posi rear axle. Great little truck and absolutely the best snow rig I had ever owned, up until we bought the '05 Grand Cherokee. Never had any problem with the Ranger. I traded it in on an '01 Silverado K2500HD Duramax/Allison.

Re: Say Goodbye To GM Sedans

So ever since I have been buying new cars, I've bought a 1986 2 dr hatchback, 1996 SUV, 2001 SUV, 2006 2 seat sports car, 2009 2 seat sports car, 2012 4 dr hatchback, and a 2015 Crew cab PU. I have never bought a sedan; I have never been tempted by Impala SS, G8, SS, Charger or anything with 4 doors and a trunk. I don't think I'll be missing them much.

Nothing else went wrong. I have a 4Runner (2005) 165K on it now.....brake pads, a battery maybe two and of course tires. Can't recall now if the Lexus or the 4Runner had 2 batteries. Bought a Lexus ES350C (hardtop convert for her) to replace the first Lexus she had...same story. Flawless mechanically so far but it only has 35K on it now. I am totally confident it will run up the miles same as other Toyota products we have had.

I have been screwed by GM more times than I can count (shame on me for going back so many times). Paint issues, transmission issues etc. etc. etc. I also had a company car that was a new GM Malibu sedan back in the 80's. POS, lousy performance, catalytic converters plugged up a couple of times when the upper chamber of the converter spilled it pellets into the lower camber. Same as a potato in the tail pipe...max speed was about 30 with the pedal to the metal. Left me stranded once in a blizzard. Never again GM...... NEVER.

Who is laughing now INDEED.
Paint issues= Environmentalists
70's and 80's emissions issues=environmentalists.
Except for my foreign made dash, my '11 Silverado has been flawless.

Do you not believe in protecting the environment?

My last two purchases, a 15 RAV4 and a 16 Corolla are both four door cars with four bangers, my first ever, my wife's second. I knew life was officially over for me when I was actually excited about it.

I think we do need to reduce pollution but importing millions of illegal aliens counters any mechanical achievements. The newly house of representatives seems to think the environment is a ok. They embrace the new polluters.

To lesser degree if appropriate measures are taken.

And just what "measures" would those be?

Apparently your definition of "experts" differs from mine. This is ONE guy who has some common sense already known to most thinking people 'ideas' and some of the usual green weenie claptrap.

I am not going to be buying any electric cars, solar panels or building a new house. Can't afford them - like many other people. Where does the electricity for the cars come from, hmm?

He needs some remedial English writing classes, also.

Not the leftie nutjobs like AlGore (seems like he got rather rich off of his LIES ) and his ilk; nor the paid-off supposed "consensus" of "scientists."

"Climate change" is a damn LIE - at least the way these morons describe it.

The Earth has ALWAYS gone through climate cycles - always has - always will.

I think the Sun has something to do with these cycles, hmm?

This thread ran off in the ditch; sorry I participated.

I'm out.
