One of the most disheartening things about being a classic Chevelle collector is that very little first-hand information about our cars survives today. The oral histories of the product developers, the assembly plant workers, the service technicians and the feelings of an 18 year old with his new Chevelle will soon be gone forever. These archives were created to attempt to preserve the historical and technical information which will continually warm the hearts of those of us who lived through a period of automotive exuberance for which none of us need apologize. The history of the Chevelle was a history of our youth and the passion of the Chevelle was our passion. It still is. Historical and Technical Information
Archiving began on April 11, 1997. Postings on the ACES Chevelle Tech page are archived if they are more than 30 days old. Email postings are archived quickly after they are posted to the Chevelle newsgroup.A word of caution may be in order: we will never archive an item which we know to be incorrect; however, we have a tremendous respect for the democracy of the Net. Inaccuracies and differences of opinion will certainly find their ways into our pages. As Dan Rather once said, "I believed my Mom but I always double-checked her sources."
