Engines. 155-hp Turbo-Thrift 250 Six, 275-hp Turbo-Fire 327 V8, 325-hp Turbo-Fire 327 V8, 350-hp Turbo-Jet 396 V8 (SS 396 only).
Cruise-Master. Preset your desired speed and its automatically
maintained as long as you like, even though you remove your foot
from the accelerator. Relaxes you on long drives. A touch of
the brake pedal restores manual operation instantly.
Transmissions. Special fully synchronized 3-speed, fully synchronized 4-speed, Powerglide, Overdrive and Turbo Hydra-Matic (SS 396 only)
Center Console. Available with bucket seats only. Houses
shift lever or automatic transmission selector lever, stowage
compartment, electric clock, rear seat courtesy light.
Power Brakes. A touch of the toe brings your Chevelle
to a smooth, level stop. Reduces braking effort by nearly one-third.
Big vacuum reserve supplies extra braking power.
Front Disc Brakes. These special brakes are available on all Chevelle modes, for above-normal braking requirements. Integrally cast cooling fins force air between disc surfaces, keeping them cooler and fade-resistant. Available with power brakes only. Includes special hubs and wheel trim rings.
Special Instrumentation. Available on all V8 sport coupes
and convertibles. Consists of ammeter, temperature and oil pressure
gauges and tachometer.
