Another change needed to make the 4.125" stroke crank work in a low deck 230 / 250 block is notching on the bottom of the cylinder bores. Long rods & high pin pistons are also needed to keep the rod angles from being too extreme. All this work is why it is more cost-effective to start with a tall 292 block. With downdraft carbs I wouldn't have hood clearance if I used the tall deck 292.
