Pros:
Good coverage of all 65-69 Chevrolet V8s
Cons:
No 6-cyl information - Incorrect info on body plate styles
Excellent coverage of casting information. A must have for the numbers crowd.
Too generic about info on trim tags and incorrectly states that all 65 to 71 trim tags indicate a V8 engine and that no 6-cyl engine identification number are stamped on any trim tag.
Fact: The trim tag style (on Chevelles at least) do not denote a V8 or 6-cyl as the VIN does by the third number (from 65 to 72). I have numerous 65-71 trim tags with styles such as 131xx, 133xx, and 135xx. It doesn't mean a 6-cyl engine (although all examples I have are) but does show there are odd 3rd digit trim tags. I also have several trim tags with an even 3rd digit but VIN has odd 3rd digit.
