Description:
|
This case is an aftermarket re-design by AutoGear.
It has heavier bearings, better alloy aluminum case, thicker case and mounting ears and a freeze plug type cap over the counter shaft hole to stop leaks there. The transmission can also be built up with M22 gears, rollerized first gear and a cast iron midplate for a bullet proof Muncie 4 speed replacement. It is a direct bolt in replacing a tired Muncie.

I had the M22 wide ratio gears installed along with the rollerized first gear and iron midplate. Tranny sounds great and with some minor shifting issues that have been taken care of shifts smoothly.
Unfortunately, it leaks. The builder has torn the transmission apart and reassembled but it still leaks. Very irritating after paying nearly $2k for this tranny.
