1964 Rearend Codes

For 1964 ONLY there is no axle plant designation in the code. Location of the stamping is on the bottom of the carrier housing flange (picture to be provided) for axles built in the Warren plant until a date of 0920 then they were stamped on the front of thepassenger side tube near the carrier. Axles built in the Buffalo plant had the numbers stamped into the drivers side axle tube on the front. Axle Codes in 1964 consist of 6 digits, the first two are the suffix the last four are the date.
A code will look like this: SSMMDD

Suffix codes are described below
Months are 1-12 beginning with January as 1
Dates are how many days are in that particular month
