Descriptions

"Fixed": A radio antenna consisting of a rod that is a fixed length of 31" to optimize FM reception.

"Telescopic": A radio antenna that can manually be lowered or raised. Split up into retracting sections like a telescope. Sometimes referred to as a "manual" antenna.

"Power": A radio antenna mounted in the rear quarter panel consisting of a telescopic mast that is raised and lowered by a motor mechanism in the trunk.

"Windshield": A radio antenna that consists of very fine laminated wires embedded into the layers of windshield glass. Sometimes referred to as a "hidden" or "invisible" antenna.

Special Notes:

*Antennas were installed on the passenger side of the vehicles regardless if they were front or rear mounted.

*There were no rear antenna options available for El Caminos.

*There was a rear telescopic radio antenna option for 1964 Chevelles, but it was dealer-installed with a matching "dummy" antenna on the driver's side. Some examples don't have the dummy antenna.

*1970-1972 vehicles that had a dealer-installed radio were fitted with a front mounted antenna.
