1964: The first model year for Chevrolet's new model line the CHEVELLE. For 1964 buyers, the selection of radios was slim. Choices included AM manual radio (no pushbuttons) or AM pushbutton radio. There was no FM radio option in 1964. Remember radios were options, not standards that came with car.

1964 AM PUSHBUTTON RADIO

Delco model number: 985776

1964 AM pushbutton units can be identified by their simple retangular bezel appearance and no special mounting provisions around the tuning shaft. The dial scale is easily recognized by the "bowtie" emblem in the middle and the two civil defense marks (small circles with inner triangles at 640 and 1240 on the dial). Below the dial are five flat, black plastic pushbuttons. Between the "14" and "16" on the dial is the word Delco written in script.
