D. Hermann from Decature has a really HOT 66 Chevelle!- Year: 1966
- Engine: 454
- Transmission: PowerGlide
Combination:
LS6.. Thats all I need to say. With the wise addition of a ultra dyne roller. The car weighs a hefty 3590. Driver and fuel. This is the true weight not a guestimation. We are running a 14x33 goodyear with a 4.88 gear. THIS IS NOT BOTTLE FED! Running a SLOAN powerglide and a coan 5500 stall and brake. Realistically we are running about 630 horses through this combination, not as much as we had hoped but we are happy for the time being. The motor is all factory block, heads. The car as you can tell by the weight has no fiberglass, all steeeeeeeeeeeellllll. The first pass in the 1/4 was a staggering and disappointing 12.66 at 99 miles per hour, oh I forgot to change the chip out from our usual 1/8 mile track. So we had to run through the lights from half track at 5900..oops. Then we run the chip to 8000 and boy did she love that. First full run was a 10.89 at 128. The mph is a little wacky... Then we fatten it up a little and went to a 10.75, This was a great pass because we smoked the shit out of this light weight 5.0 beater and they had about thirty friends standing there along the fence at Route 66, boy nice track. Anyway this was the first wheel stand we had ever achieved, with a powerglide! It carried the front tires out about ten feet and just as smooth...mmmm that was sweet. This was also due to a little ladder bar mod. Then came the eliminations.. We were already on a great high just running the car and that pukestang. We ended up going three ruounds until a sligh little red eye came on in the fourth.. The quickest we ran was a 10.70 at 131. Boy was it a great weekend, oh by the way this was only the second time we had the car out! we had a bad blowout last year in our very first run, blowing the trans, convertor, slip yoke, driveshaft and pinion yoke! only cost us about 2000 on one run...So we were a little timid this year but now we are bak and ready to RACE!

- Engine: 427
- Transmission: PowerGlide
Combination:
Motor built by Peter Pizzagalli of PRE Racing Engines in Northern Vermont. The beast goes on the dyno next week and we hope for 600-650 horse natural, with another 150-200 on squeeze. Steel crank & caps Oliver Rods SRP 14/1 domed pistons 3/4 filled block Ultradyne custom grind cam. Stainless crower rolls Heads from a HO 502 crate motor (cast) that have extensive port, polish, and flow work Front gear drive All internal balanced Reworked 1050 Dominator on a Barry Grant massaged Multi Port Nitrous Plate system all on a Team G alum. intake If this won't get it in the 9's, I'll put my injected Alky 540ci in. Thats one pushes my altered to 7.8sec with 855 Dyno horses. I also have a Blown 1500horse Oddy motor that Peter is freshening (I oops, zinged the valves). That one pushed the altered to 6.9 at 200mph. I have not run the numbers yet, but with a back half, I think the Elky could see 7.8 - 8.0 flat Any input from other alcoholics out there ???

Mike Allred from Plattsmouth, NE. has a '65 Wagon with a bigblock that runs 12's- Year: 1965
- Engine: 461
- Transmission: PowerGlide
Combination:
2 bolt main, .030 over 12.5 TRW slugs swing on stock rods with good bolts attatched to a cast crank. A Reed .644 lift / 262 deg @ .050 bumped forward 4 degrees bumps opens 2.19 / 1.88 valves in oval port heads that support a vintage Team G and 750 4150 Holley. An older Accel distributor is locked at 38 degrees and gets help from a MSD 6AL and a big coil. A 4000 stall hand-me-down converter sends torque to a home-built 1.82 glide with good innards and a TCI brake. A 12 bolt with a posi spins 4.88 gears and 10.5 X 29 Hoosiers. This thing launches soft using an adjustable pneumatic throttle stop, a two-step, and patience, so burnouts are optional. Quarter mile numbers are 12.60s at 122 mph.

Car is being built for track and cruising. Has to look mean & nasty (I'm a manic Fuel Altered fan, that's next). Will have a stock hgt. Fibre' hood w/ cutout for the stacks. Will ride on the new ETIII Big Window Slots in the rear, and the ET "Gasser" 10 spokes up front (fat & skinny). Car was a factory six, Marina Blue. There will be nothing cut, drilled, or removed (that can't be replaced later) and will retain full black interior and all trim. This car has been nothing but luck since being bought. Paid 2500 (already offered 5,000), found same year 396 w/ OEM Holley carb and a built TH400 for 500 one week later, paid 475 for the complete injection setup that is off of a dragster. But wait, went to get plates, std. issue, they read "396HST". Guess what the shi! fter is? Hurst Pro Stick. Also working on N2O setup (just in case). Please feel free to e-mail with your comments or suggestions. bfox@turmatic.com Thanks, injected66

"Mr. B" hasn't run his '69 yet, but it should be a strong performer!- 1969 Chevelle SS396
- Engine: 468
- Transmission: Powerglide
Combination:
69 SS396 body just started project last year, getting ready for engine build this month. Block and crank are back from shop. 1970 LS5 block was standard with no wear until 3 weeks ago. The crank was chromed 3 months ago. Just got the rotating assembly balanced. The rods are Eagle with 13:1 Speed Pro pistons. I bought the Brodix aluminum heads from a friend who ordered the heads, then decided to run a small block. They were new from Jeg's. I'm gonna run a Weiend Team G intake, with a Holley 1150 Dominator. Fuel pump will be a Barry Grant 400 Race pump, with a 220 Pro pump for the NOS system Pro Shot Fogger system. Not sure the pistons I have right now will work I just happened to have them left over from a previous build. Ignition will be from a Mallory Unilite with MSD 7AL box and MSD wires. Transmission is a local built GM Powerglide with hardened input shaft, steel clutch hub, TCI transbrake, and 4500 rpm stall converter. The back half of the car consists of a narrowed Dana 60 rear-end with 456 gears. I back halved the car and put in a ladder bar set-up with coil overs. The front suspension is all new with poly bushings, Moroso trick springs, and Competition Engineering 90/10 drag shocks. I haven't bought my wheels or slicks yet. I used a friend's when I narrowed the rear end. The car was completely gutted when I bought it so I took out the windows, installed Lexan, gutted the doors out to basically a skin, installed a full roll cage, aluminum dash and completely finished out the inside with aluminum. Two drag seats, Auto Meter gauges, Hurst Quarter stick, RCI seat belts, MSD 7AL, Dedenbear crossover delay box, air shifter set, and fire extinguisher are the only things that accomodate the inside.Outside modifications include fiberglass front and rear bumpers, fiberglass hood with a 6" cowl, and 1997 GM Medium Blue Metallic paint. I hope that you can use this. This car has come along ways since I bought it. I hope to run this car in the spring of 1998, if every thing goes well, i'll keep you informed. Thanks for listening. "Mr. B"
