I was told by Hooker Tech Support that I would need factory big block motor mounts (the peices that bolt to the crossmember) in order to install Hooker Super Comp Headers in my '69 Chevelle. The car is not a factory big block. How would I find these mounts or is this even neccessary?? Thanks!

Your tech was mistaken, this only applies to camaros which have different frame mount for small and big blocks. On a 68 to 72 chevelle all frame mounts are the same height. I have hooker headers on my big block 69 chevelle and frame mounts from a 350 car.

Well that is almost true. 307 frame mounts are different from the rest of the V8's - maybe just because of the tremendous torque these beasts put out.

I admit I am not a Chevelle expert but I disagree that all V8's used the same frame mounts. I have gone to 3 separate GM dealers and attempted to order frame mounts for a BB on my 70 Chevelle. One dealer was finally able to order only 1 side (I believe it was the pass. side) but it was DEFINITELY lower than the small block towers (since the BB is taller perhaps than a SB?) I had the SB towers side by side to the new BB towers and measured a 3/8" heighth difference (the BB towers were lower). I know that oodles of guy shave converted SB to BB but the fan sits higher in the shroud (if the shroud is still there) if BB towers are not used. My 454 Chevelle has the lower style towers but I have had a 70 350 with taller towers. They apparantly are close enough in heigth they dont't really matter.

Gentlemen or Ladies: I have finished a replica NASCAR go cart for my son. We are interested to find out if you have any stickers that he can decorate it with to make it look more authentic. If this is possible, please send them to: Eric Gilchrist, 16028 11th S.W., Seattle, WA 98166. Thank you very much!!

Has anyone had any experience with super-comp headers on a '69 mustang mach 1 with a 390 or larger engine??? I have heard that it is nearly impossible to fit the headers into the engine compartment...is this true??? Thanks
