Hi This is Jimmys wife (Renee). Team Chevelle and all the members were such a big part of his life. He still has it at the top of is favorites on his computer. He died of a massive heart attack on Sat 8/16 around 7:20 pm. We are still in shock because it was so sudden.

I would joke about things when he heard or learned something new and asked him if he learned it on on Chevelle Tech. I was always amazed about his knowledge of cars and ability to build them. A neighbor of mine who only knew Jimmy for a short time is also a car guy and a body and paint man and has offered to paint and put the car back together for me. This is such a blessing you can't believe. It will be done the way he wanted and I am going to keep it. He said he was going to keep this car when it was done, but he has said that before then went to a car show and has come home with another car (sometimes two) that he traded for! I am going to miss that.
Renee

Team Members have expressed a desire to help finish Jimmy's Chevelle

We will be providing a list of some parts (coming soon) that are needed to help finish the Chevelle, and of course, donations are welcomed.
The link below accepts all forms of payment and you do NOT need a PayPal account - (see bottom left of the page that comes up and click the "Continue" button)

Thanks for assisting a fellow Member's family.

I have thought very hard about what to do with the car. There have been a few people who have offered to "take it off my hands", but my husbands dream was to finish this car and keep it.

My next door neighbor has offered to paint and put it back together for me if I buy all the missing parts. My husbands friend Dennis has a list of what might be needed to finish it after looking through the parts we have. The engine is being taken back to the original machine shop, cleaned up from the water damage from the house fire and reassembled.

Jimmy's Chevelle will be done the way he wanted and I am going to keep it. He said he was going to keep this car when it was done, but he has said that before then went to a car show and has come home with another car (sometimes two) that he traded for! I am going to miss that. Thank you all for your thoughts, kindness and prayers.

I have enjoyed reading all the comments from people on Team Chevelle, you don't know how your website has helped me get through this difficult time. My girls and I are having their Daddy cremated and can't wait to do a smoky burnout and take him for a ride in his Chevelle. We want to go to car shows and put his name and dates on back window "in memory of" but done tastefully.
