Default BBC Headers

Need to choose (find) a set of headers for my 66 Chevelle. I would prefer a top line, coated header.
Cost is secondary to quality, ease of installation (I don't want to hammer the header to make it fit), and looks.

Please provide a part number, if you know it.

In the old days, I used Hedman exclusively because they fit with no issues. The Hooker headers that we put on my son's car hung down and scraped the pavement a lot. There was no need for the collectors to be so low. We also had to relocate the combination valve to the top of the frame to clear one tube. We also used header wrap to keep heat away from the valve. There are other headers out there that fit well. I just haven't used them personally.

I can certainly tell you one NOT to buy. The DynoMax I got from Summit are apparently only for 68 - up. The driver's side went in perfectly. The pass. side had to be cut and rewelded in 3 places. Be sure the manufacturer specifically notes your exact application before you order. OLDED
OLDED - It's STOCK if it's made by GM and it fits!

I love my hedman's! They fit...botttom line. Have to jack up the drivers side to put it on, but the pass side slips right in from underneath. (need to remove oil filter on my 67 with cannister) I think # is 68196..jsut have to be sure to use their gaskets!

Hedman part number 68196(coated). Have them in my 66 and they are as easy as any header is to put in.

Has anyone used the 2" primary / 3" collector Hedman headers?

Thinking about trying a set of these for my '71 big block and was wondering about the fit. Any issues?
