Default Rear brake lock-up

I did a search and found some info, but nothing that seemed to fit. Converted a 1969 drum brake car to ZO6 front calipers/rear drums. Somebody recommended that we install a prop valve. Had one installed, along with pre-bent lines to fit, and a master cyl for a front disc brake Chevelle. Within a week the back brakes locked up. The left rear brake released, then the right rear, throwing the car into a skid.
Had brakes inspected and inspector said rear brakes showed excessive heat and discoloration, possibly due to incorrect brake line pressure to rear brakes.
I found a post that said the 1969 Chevelles don't use a prop valve, but rather a metering or check valve (can't remember which now).
Is that the problem? The prop valve is less than an inch from the exhaust header. Is that a problem? Thanks.

I'm sure others can pin point your issue but I do know there is a ton of info on this already published in this group. Did you do a search. The 69 is one of the most commonly used conversion set up so I'll bet you can easily find all your answers.
