We(Dad & I)recently did the disc brake swap on our 67 Chevelle. The whole setup was from a 71 Chevelle. After we had the spindles and power brake booster on we realized that the new brake lines would not mount up to the proportioning valve. We were looking at having to bend the lines a lot, but we headed up to True Connections North http://www.tcnchevelle.com They have this special adapter for $4.50 that really saved our butts. We had been debating on whether to bend the lines & take the chance of breaking them or putting the drums back on. This is just some advice for future disc brake swapspers. We have to bend the lines slightly, but not nearly as much as we did. Hope this helps at least one person.

Jay W,
I am about to do the swap myself from a 72 Chevelle to a 67. I was wondering, did you also pulled the proportioning valve from the 71? Thanks. [This message has been edited by William Roche (edited 08-18-99).] |

William,
Yes, it was from the 71. The lines will require some bending, but not much at all. Can't wait to get this car on the road! ------------------ Jay W. In-the-works 67 Malibu genxrodsandcustoms.8m.com surferwagons.8m.com |
