Default Ninety-eight miles? Just ninety-eight miles? *sigh*

I changed the oil in the coupe today. According to my records, I only put 98 miles on it in a touch over a year. The wagon has been done for about two and a half years and it still has less than 500 miles on it. I only made it to one car show this year, a small local thing (and it was kind of a disappointment).

I should have more time for my own activities next Summer. I have GOT to finish that GTO project by this Spring or else. Love my cars, just lacking motivation and time. I'll have more time, I just hope the motivation comes back. It was nice driving the coupe today. I've got to buckle down and finish that GTO but it seems to fight me at every turn.

Don't feel too lonesome. Mine didn't make it out of the garage once this year.

Join the club. I might have put 100 miles on the Buick this year.

Since I started racing, the car show deal just doesn't have the same appeal.

Maybe I could start bracket racing. The Buick would be competitive there.

Mine hasn't run in 3 years.

Been having fun with a few other cars though... Put about 500 miles on the Model T this summer before it broke a valve, put 1000mi on the Miata, and 2000mi on the G8 already.

They do not stay pretty if you drive them. Since the Nova has been done I have 15k miles on it, there are rock chips in the paint, minor scratches on the wheels (where they came from i have no idea), bugs in the condenser and the underside will never look new again. All that aside I love driving it, love hearing the engine, rowing through the gears and getting the from people. It sees little travel to and from shows but lots of cruises, anywhere from 100 miles to 1400 miles. The wagon will probably be driven more when it is done, but that is me, I build them to drive.

Take it to work one day a week, that´ll help you get the mileage.
Makes going to work a whole lot more fun too!

my problem here locally is my options for driving are limited. I can't drive it anywhere where I need to leave it unattended. I'm even nervous leaving it in the parking lot at work - 10 feet from our office manager's desk. The problem is, if I leave it unattended in public, it will get stolen or mauled.

I'm in the low miles club also, and that's not a good thing. I put maybe 100-200 miles on this year, and about the same last year. My poor Chevelle sits an awful lot lately.

This is what it's all about. Get out and enjoy them. It's a lot cheaper if you just buy a toy car and put it on the shelf rather than a full size out sitting in the garage. I know life gets in the way sometimes, but make time or an excuse to drive them every once in a while. I rarely go more than a week without going for a cruise.

My solution to the one that sits was to build another one to thrash. No powdercoated frames or pristinely painted floorpans. Hopefully it will be on the road by summer.

I'm not interested in driving the wheels off anything, it is just the fact that they've been sitting so much. I typicaly put at least a few hundred miles on the L79 a year. I've logged 10k since I restored it the first time and about 2500 if that since the second restoration. I've just not had much time in the past three years or so to do much car related stuff.

Here's a photo from the last outing with the wagon. Stopped by to visit Mom and Dad on the way home....
