Default Fuel Line help 71'

Ive researched for 2 days now and cant find a staright answer on what I need. How do I run the fuel lines and what size lines do I need? I plan on bending them myself. Its a mild 350 and I have the EEC(?) gas tank. The original lines are long gone. They used rubber hose the whole way on the outside of the frame. I plan on using my canister so I need to hook up the vent line(line). Short on money because of a wedding coming up and the government possibly furloughing us. Thanks for the help guys

did you try Inline Tube, they manufacturer most of the prebent lines for the industry they also carry straight stock in Steel or Stainless.

I was told that all small block Chevelles came with 5/16" diameter lines, big block cars had 3/8"...Nowadays, they can be had in 1/2" !

Many of the higher horspower small blocks also had 3/8" sending units and lines. Even the current ZR1 Corvettes (638HP) and Cadillac CTSV (556HP) use 3/8" lines so you would be well served to use that size. Anything larger is just overkill on a typical street driver.

350 Small blocks that I have seen had 3/8" lines. 307 and smaller had the 5/16".

Did a little research and found `fuel return line' was only used on AC cars only. My non AC `71' SB only needed a 3/8 Fuel & 5/16 Vapor line.

I would use 3/8"for a feed line. On my car the BB's got a 3/8" and the SB cars had 5/16". I used a combo of braided SS and hard lines. Worked out pretty good and they feed the hungry 383 without a problem.

On my 71 ElCamino,an L48 350 car,it has a 3/8 fuel line on the pass side and a vapor line on the drivers side that I think is a 3/8 vapor line but I have to check to be sure.My vapor cannister is long gone so I cannot help you there.
