Default Flashback to Chevelle Value's Spring of 1976 !!!!

For the past several months I have been cleaning out a building that housed the contents of a Chevrolet dealers brochure's, Showroom displays, and advertising stuff, . I have made numerous trips sifting out what is interseting now it all has to be disposed of. It was overwheming there are still over 5000 brochures from 1970 to the early eighties. While there on this visit I came across a box of stuff from the used car department circa 1976.

This is really interesting check out Chevrolet values as the Used Car department would have valued them in the First Gas Crunch !!!

Starting with the newest of the second gen Chevelle's the 1972 Model year

Note the add on for the SS model a whopping $50/$75 and You deduct for a 4 speed

The 1971 and older didn't even factor in the SS on the Chevelle

It's crazy to see that the Corvette didn't suffer actually valued above list price in some years !!!!

Some of the Neat stuff from today's Treasure hunt !!!!

This by far is the Neatest of the items , I have never seen a desktop 454 display

Even the 350 is Cool !!!

A pretty Cool Flashback to when Our Beloved Chevelle's were Gas Guslers and not worth a Whole Lot !!!! Wouldn't You have loved to buy 20 or so at those prices !!!!

I love it!

A Monte Carlo is worth more than a Chevelle, and 4 speed cars are worth less than an auto...just as it should be.

Thanks for sharing.

Jim, I notice the big block refereneces are all without any ducting from the air cleaner to rad support, therefore are pre 1975. As I recall the big block was a tough sell after ther early 1970s due to insurance and a little thing called the Arab Oil Embargo.

Before it hits the dumpster, send me a PM as I may be interested in whatever is out there. Seriously.

Those were still in a box dated 1972 from Chevrolet Advertising. Its interesting to see those are artist pictures of the 73 engines but they dont show an EGR valve and there is a TCS solonoid on the front of the 350. The 454 is correct on the second design hot air tube however the manifold is webbed not seen until much later.

AAAhh yes, remember buying a cherry, low mileage, 70, LS-6, M-22, from a little car lot, dealer told me he wouldn't warrant the trans, cause it was noisy, duh, out the door 1700 and change.

That is so cool. I love reading stuff like that. Add $50 to $75 for the SS package on my 71, lol
