Default [non chevelle] Pontiac electrical problem

99 Pontiac Bonneville:
The other night the dash instrument lights went out. Pulled and check the under dash fuses as well firewall fuses. They all looked good.

One thing I did notice is that if I turn the dome lights on with the light switch the instrument lights do come on. I haven't noticed anything else not working.

Light switch or am I overlooking something else or something obvious? What says the Chevelle Forum?

I used to own a 93 Bonnie-my GUESS would be the light switch/dimmer assy. But if you want a possible better answer, check out this forum: http://www.bonnevilleforum.com . Used to be only a Bonnie board (like this one) but has been combined into a "all GM" board. But still has the bonnie tech info archived. Good luck!

If I recall correctly, and it's been a few years since I owned it, to remove the light switch you have to use a paperclip or thin screwdriver blade to push a tab in that's under the knob, then pull the knob off the shaft. Then unscrew the bezel around the bottom of the shaft. Good luck.
