Default Is this a good air compressor?

Hey guys, I finally bought a house with a two car garage and need to equip it. I am looking at this compressor for standard use of air tools.

My budget is $4-500.00

Anyone have comments?

Happy new year also.

That is a great compressor. I had no issues running a DA and a sandblaster (not at the same time) with this compressor.

depends on your air tools. da's are notorious air consumers. just check the ratings on the tools you're gonna use, & that will answer your question for you. i bought an ingersol with almost identical numbers & price a few years ago @ TSC., & my da will run its ass ragged. you just have to take a few breaks to let it catch up. i also feel that for the price, it is a small inconvenience to pay. you cant beat it for home use. it does, however, keep up very well while spraying,& i have a hvlp devilbiss plus gun.

I'm sure the Campbell-Hausfield is a decent unit. Here's one within you budget that has just a bit more HP, higher pressure and CFM for $20. more. I bought one of these from Lowes a few months ago and it has worked just fine. The only thing I don't care for is that it is pretty loud. When I bought mine the price was $468. in the store. The price shown below is from the internet.

I got the same one as vet last year. Sounds funny but it is a hobby size. Meaning my cut off wheel or sandblaster will run for ten or fifteen and you need to crack a beer and let it build up pressure again. For the price and what us guys typically do it works. It just reminds you that we do this for fun when you run out of air and need to relax. It is very loud. It will definitely wake the whole family. You need to buy a valve to control the flow.....can't think of the name...but they are not cheap.

Campbell-Hausfield makes a good compressor. I've had my current one for 8 years and it's been very good so far. It is a little bigger (7.5hp-80 gal.) but it keeps up with everything (beadblaster, sandblaster, air tools) and I use it 5-6 days a week.
