Default th 400 converter feed restriction

Ok so I am getting ready to rebuild the Th400 I took out in my car. It held up well for a long time behind old motor but only lasted a hundred miles behind the new one, granted had many years on it. I had a b@m shift kit, clutch kit and 34 element sprag, but nnothing fancy. Now I am glad it only lasted a short time in new engine because the old motor had extreme thrust wear, which appears to be common 400 problem.
I am planning on hardened input shaft and going to a trans brake valve body, but am concerned about thrust wear. I have done a lot of research and found lots of varying opinions on what to do. Is there a good guide line to follow for restiction size wihthout being able to put the tranny on a dyno to measure pressures??? I would prefer not to have to put together, get line pressure measured and pull apart again etc... Does anybody sell a pump that is already modified for this???? Engine in sig, and plan to put some N2o on it, no more than a 250-300 shot.
