Chevelle has a full frame ,are you going to cut off the front of the frame to replace it with the Camaro subframe?
And if so - Why?

You might want to recheck the dimensions of both as I doubt the front clip (fenders, core support, grill, etc) will come close to fitting.
Don't think the frames will match up enough to graft together either.
Dale has some frame dimensions listed so have a look.

That's actually not a subframe, more like just a bolt in crossmember. It's a strut like front suspension, you need strut towers too. Really don't think it's feasable.

Without being a total jerk, this is one idiotic idea. I will tell you why

1) Gen3 Camaros arent exactly known for their superior handling. Even in their time they werent corner carvers, so spending the amount of time and money on just getting that suspension on the car is like running the Boston Marathon backwards, admirable to some but bewildering to most.

2) There is much more aftermarket support for an A body as far as handling equiptment and it works a lot better than whats available for a 3rd Gen.

3) If all you are doing this for is R&P steering, there are companies that make ready to go kits that get you that without any cutting. Unisteer is the one that best fits that application and the one Id use.

Beyond that, I seriosly hope you are joking cause this is probably one of the worsy conceive ideas Ive ever heard of. Now it you said I have a DSE subframe for a 1st gen then Id be giving a few thumbs up but since you arent I think you need to shelve this horribly assembled idea.

Put a disc brake kit on it for a 66 chevelle, change the steering box to a 93-97 jeep grand Cherokee steering box. Do it all in a day and call it done.

no, no you cannot use the subframe from a 3rd gen Camaro in a Chevelle... and, no, the Camaro doesn't have rack and pinion steering..

stick with the basics and learn what you are doing.. disc brakes from a 69-72 Chevelle or any other A body are easy to bolt on. stock replacement Moog rebuild parts for the suspension are available at any parts store. a tighter steering box can be found in the junkyard. stiffer springs and better are readily available.

but the most important thing it to learn the basics before you start spending thousands and thousands of dollars on aftermarket parts that look cool but might not make the car any better for what YOU want out of it.

You should sell your chevelle to someone on this forum and build up the Camaro.
