Default 454 horsepower and torque guesses

So Im done with my 454 build for my 72, and Im so happy as this is my first build on my own. Anyway I will be going to the dyno next week and would like to know some of your opinions as far as horsepower and torque are concerned. Here are the specs on the motor:
454 bored .30 over
8.4:1 compression (went with a budget build for now until I can afford new pistons)
Lunati 60203 HFT cam, Duration: 268/276, Duration @ .050: 228/233, Lift: .542/.554, LSA: 110
049 heads with standard valve size and 113cc chambers
Edelbrock Performer Intake (a little porting was done to match the heads and intake)
SMI QJet

Any guesses you guys have are appreciated.

I think a 60202 would have been a better choice cam with that compression but Iím interested to see what kind of numbers you pull out of it.

My guess - 442 HP and 498 TQ.

Be sure to post the dyno numbers when you get them.

And congrats on your first engine build.

I think should make about 380-400 HP and 440-450tq. Excellent street motor!

good job on your first build- great parts selection for a torquey street motor that will probably last 100k miles!

are we going for flywheel or rear wheel power numbers?

anyhow, my guess-

flywheel- 430/490
rear wheel- 325/400 (auto) 370/425 (stick)

I'll go with 425/460. I figure for reference the 454 ho has similar compression, smaller (but hydraulic roller) cam, and stock iron rec ports. It's reported at 425.

Congrats on your first build! I to am doing my first build with the same motor and almost the same parts list. I'm using the stock cast iron intake due to it being an all original 72 "W" car. Make sure to post you dyno numbers!

Yes Ill be using either Hooker Competition headers or Headman Headers whichever will fit better and give better performance, which was my other question. What headers would be better? Id love to get some Doug Thorley headers but they are a little pricey and I dont have the funds for them unfortunately.

Tony, plesae don't take this wrong, I am just curious about something though. You rebuilt the motor .030 over and bought new flat top pistons or was the motor already assembled? What is the dyno session costing? FWIW, if money is tight, a set of domed hypereutectic pistons might have been darn close to a wash instead of the dyno session. I have yet to assembled a motor at home and hauled it off to the dyno. Without a doubt, if you buy a complete ready to run motor from a builder, he is going to want to fire it and run it on the dyno before it goes out the door. For the home builder on a tight budget though, it's often a different scenario. again, just asking.

Joe the bottom end was already assembled, which my friend had all the machine work done from an engine builder he know and they kept the flat top pistons. I got the motor from him when he sold his Chevelle, so I got the block with complete bottom end and heads, and I finished the motor with the cam intake and carb. As far as the dyno, its going to my friend who is an engine builder himself and they are going to break the cam in and tune it, and make some pulls on the dyno.

basically as long the springs are 130-135 on the seat/340 open at 1.90 installed height you will be fine.
