![]() In addition to those pathetic tags, everything else on that car is wrong too -- rear trim, decklid, speedo (they say it is a 160 in the text but in the picture it is clearly a 120 speedo), and every single thing under the hood. They even used the body # off the cowl tag on the Z16 web site from the restoration study car. You'd think they at least would have made up a different number! ![]() Very sad what some people will try to pull. I wonder if the current seller bought it thinking it was real. If so, he's in for a rude awakening, and needs a good lawyer to go after whomever he bought it from. The only thing remaining to find out is if they do have a real Z16 block and have just tried to concoct a fake car around it based on the partial VIN # stamped on the block. I have asked for a pic of the deck stamp to see if it is a real motor or not. But I fully expect it to be an Impala suffix, or just as bad of a restamp as those pathetic homemade tags are.

I don't see how anyone could think that vin and trim tag looks any where near what it's suppose to look like. He would have better luck just taking those off and saying there is no tags. I'd like to talk to this appraisal company, lol.

Buyer beware. I bet he was told it was real when he bought it. He probably doesn't know anything about cars. He probably bought it for $15-20k and was told being a Z16 that it was really rare.
I'm sure that he knows what it is now. A guy doesn't get that many trophies, even at cruises and back yard shows, without somebody educating him. It will be interesting to see if he acknowledges any questions on his Ebay ad.

an "incorrect" cowl tag would throw up less red flags than that thing....

I just sent this email to the Seller:
"Hi, Roger. Thanks for sending the pictures. Unfortunately, your car is not a Z16. Nor is the engine a Z16 engine. Nor is it # matching to the car. We'll see if any of the statements in the the auction change now ...

If only he had left the car black. No one would have ever suspected!!!
After all, it does have a 396 in it. You have to wonder who is bidding on it. |
