Default rat fink

I know that 99%of the team knows of Ed(big daddy)Roth but for the other 1%ters that havent take some time and do your research on the pioneer of hot rods.an amazing person, growing up in the 70's I had every matchbox, school folder, tee shirt rat finked that my mom could find at a garage sale only later to trade them all in for cool surf clothes in the 80-90's.now well into my 40's mid life wake up Roth countinues to inspire me on my 68' chevelle 300d 383/th350,56'studebaker commander 42.000 orig miles.thanks Ed(rip)

yeah growing up near santa cruz in the 70's brought out alot of surf, skate hot rod styly that copied to this very day(hot rod guys were the first to put prints on plain white tee shirts)and with out guys like Roth and Van-Dutch and Jim Phillips alot of these cars would been turned into scrap metal.drive it like you stole it-nor cal-68'383/chevelle/56'studebaker

Rat Fink and other "Big Daddy Roth" creations are now popular fashion accessories among beautiful people that don't know or care about cars or the culture that it was created for.
not that there's anything wrong with that, but it does make stuff like Rat Fink shirts more expensive.

Gene..... I have to tell you, I was trying to explain Gene to my "little brother's" at a car show last year, I turn around and he's standing there, and talked to my boy's for what seemed like forever, can't tell you how cool that was for me, one of the fathers of hotrodom and just talked about anyhting the boys brought up.

Gene, too cool for the room....

I thoroughly enjoy digging into these icons' history whenever they're brought up, good stuff always. I just learned that Gene Winfield designed one of the star trek shuttle crafts, too cool!

as a kid I wanted to be a car designer, right up till I graduated high school, Big Daddy was defintely an influence in that. To this day the coolest t-bucket car ever made for me is the Mysterion! Too bad the quality of the build was such that it basically fell apart within a year or so of being built. Someone has found the car and restored it though.

Oh and I built the revelle model as a kid too
