Default BBC 427 Build

I'm Currently Rebuilding my Big Block Chevy 427, it will just be a street motor nothing to radical, The Engine will be bored .60 over & will be going with:

-Keith Black Forged Pistons Dome Height 0.124 in
-Scat H Bean rods with ARP bolts
-110 CC Edelbrock Performer RPM Oval Port Aluminum Heads
-Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap Oval Port intake
-Edelbrock Thunder Series AVS 800CFM Carburetors
-Lunati Hydraulic Roller Camshafts & Lifters (Lift .600/.600 Duration at @.50 231 int./239 exh)
-1.7 Ratio Scorpion Race Series Roller Rocker Arms
-Summit Blueprint HEI distrubtor

I figure my compression will be around 9:1

What are your thoughts of this combination?

Bump the compression up to 10 to 1, or maybe a little more.

The problem is Iím selected on the choice of pistons because Iím using floating rods and since I got the 110 CC heads any other pistons Keith Black offers will give me compression in the 11ís range, So Keith black recommend for me to use the Forged Pistons (Dome Height 0.124), I know the compression is kind of low but this engine will be just for the street Iím not looking to make crazy amount of horse power

It's great for a street car, you'll be able to tune the carb and distributor for good performance and good gas mileage.

But not with that carb. Sell that thing and buy a Holley 770 SA.

Well, I'm running 215 heads with big valves vs your edelbrock rpm's, and different pistons, but I have 10:1, and other than that the exact same combo! 427 .060 over, same cam, same intake, but I have a 750 Holley that I've setup.

I will let you know how I like it when I fire it up next week! Got almost everything together, but had a soccer game and it was raining. No rain next week and its getting started up on thursday!

Well then you;re stuck with 9 to 1. the good news is, it'll make more power on lower grades of gasoline!

My 511hp MJ467 motor is 9:1 and is awesome! MJ said to use 91 octane fwiw. Good luck with your 427. What's a 427 .060 over anyways?

Those heads would prefer a cam with a wider split to compensate for the intake/ exhaust flow ratio but not a bad choice over all, except the carb .agree Holley SA 770

9:1 compression and aluminum heads? I'd think 87 would be no problem.
