Default cpp C3 master cylinder.. what hole and pushrod length

i just installed my C3 CPP master cylinder for my manual disk/disk swap on my 71, and i had to remove my push rod because i couldn't get the master cylinder on.
i tried both the upper and lwoer mounting holes. it seems it would be pressing on the pushrod inside the MC too much so i removed it.

what should the overall length of the pushrod be for this master cylinder? if i adjust it how much travel and i supposed to have?

this MC is supposed to have a deep groove for this set up, but i guess it doesn..

thanks

Manual masters are supposed to have deep pistons, as you said. For all manual configurations, the clevis should be adjusted so the pin goes through the top hole. It's perhaps that your pushrod is too long? How does the pushrod get secured to the Master so it doesnt fall out?

To give you an idea, the wilwood tandem's (7/8" bore) is held in by a washer and circlip. Can you hack down the rod and adjust the clevis to fit where it should be on the pedal?

Before you hack, call CPP and ask WTF>

Oh, and pics can help!! (us)

FYI, the info that came with the master should state how long of a stroke it has.

its the C3 15/16 master. large port.
part number M-C1516-L

i had received ZERO information with the thing, and on top of it it took almost 4 weeks for it to get to my door. so im a little irritated.

but yes the pushrod is adjustable. and it seems the piston is not too deep. it was originally on the top hole as its always been a manual set up.
i think i have enough thread that i can adjust the pushrod to make the distance from the mounting holes on the clevis to the tip of the pushrod long enough.
the only way i see the pushrod staying on the master is by the force between the pedal and the piston. thats how my stock MC was.

ill get pics tomorrow. i do have pics of it installed from the engine compartment. and its already bench bled and ready to go.. damn

The master cylinder can also be quickly changed from a manual to a power application with the simple addition of our exclusive adapter pin

had to replace a line i made a flare on because it was leaking.
got the brakes bled, and the pedal feels great.
that insert is not hard to remove at all! just dont push it in before you bleed. i had to put a small hole in it so i could get a screw driver in it to pull it out.
