The West Coast Chevelle Gathering will be Saturday, April 10, 2010. That's the second Saturday in April. No rainout date is set as yet.
The format will be the same as last year but with a few changes and expanded activities. With the continued support of Dave Smith and his crew at Sacramento Raceway, next years event will have more "Chevelle ONLY" track time! This year, the gates will open at 8:00am. With advance purchase, you'll be ushered in at gate #1. No waiting in line with the racer dudes. Your advance purchase tickets will include a BBQ lunch and 3 raffle tickets with an option to buy more at a discount. We've moved-up the timeline for the raffle and awards to the Noon hour to accomodate those out-of-town guys who were stuck waiting around until after 5pm last year. Only the "Burnout Contest" trophy will be presented after the contest. This year, we'll have more shade in the way of a 80'x40' tent and we'll be tapped into the track PA system for event info and racing intros. ![]() Gary and the "Nitro Fever" car will be there again and some Top Fuel testing is rumored to be scheduled. We have a new blower on the car and need to make some runs. ![]() Remember, the West Coast Chevelle Gathering is a family event. Wives, girlfriends and kids are welcome. Drunken, rowdy behavior is not tolerated. Alcohol is not allowed in the pit area so bring your plastic cups ![]() The WCCG is NOT a car show. It's a gathering of Chevelle owners at at racing facility. You are expected to act accordingly. We had all types of cars last year from primered projects to full blown show cars to race only cars. This year we expect more of the same. A LOT more! ![]() So....get those parts orders in and get those winter projects finished in time to make it. Even if you don't....come on out anyway. We had more than a few attendees last year who came without their Chevelle. Don't miss this once-a-year chance to meet your fellow Team Chevelle members and put a face to a name! ![]() Advance Purchase ONLY: Car & Driver $25 show only (includes BBQ lunch and 3 raffle tickets) Racing Tech Card $25 (advance purchase only) Passenger $15 per person (includes BBQ and 3 raffle tickets per person) Raffle Tickets 5/$5 advance 3/$5 day of the show. Day of the Event: Car & Driver $25 Tech Card $25 Passengers $15 Raffle Tickets 3/$5 Normal track admission applies after 11am. $50 per car & driver $10 per person Please email me directly at cueball9@comcast.net for advance purchse forms or additional info. All event volunteers, please contact me asap.

I might be able to make it this time. I`m hoping to finally get the 65 el camino I`m trading for very soon. I might also be out on the road so we`ll have to see. What is the cost if you don`t intend to race? What time does the gates open?

It's on my calendar. Last year I brought my Dad in his '67 El Camino, my son in my '72 El Camino SS and of course me in my '70 SS. How about a little swap meet too?

If I`m not on the road I would like to make it. It`s too far out for me to know if I`ll be home or not but I`d like to. I just don`t know if I`ll have time to get the el camino in decent enough shape to make it down the strip but I`d love to run the 1/4 again. If nothing else I can hang out and meet alot of members.

There's plenty of space for you to lay-out some parts for sale etc. I don't want to formalize a "Swap Meet" but bring whatever you have and park it near your car. I've got some stuff I'd like to give away.

Are Okies allowed?
Anyone know how long it takes to drive a Chevelle from Okla City to Sacramento? It looks like I-40 to Barstow, then 58 to Bakersfield, then 99 to Sacramento, right?

I'm going to try and make it. My wife and I are expecting our first child at end of February. If we can't make it as a family, I'll see if I can break away for a day. |
