What are some of you doing to limit the downward travel of the SPC arms seeing as how they don't use the stock upper control arm bump stop?
I guess most are relying on gravity but my application will most likely lift the front wheels off the ground. If it doesn't, then I've failed miserably.SC&C, I think, recomends the Competition Engineering kit seen here: http://www.competitionengineering.co...onents_368.pdf I wonder if I can skip the welding part and use the orginal bump stop hole in some way? Maybe tie it down into the sway bar hold on the lower control arm? the link above looks like something I can make from a hardware store. I don't need the adjustability though becuase I am not going to limit my travel down to low numbers like the drag cars like. I just want to keep the upper arm from slamming into the frame is all.

Best bet is to add limiting straps from the drag world (what you posted a link to). This has been my plan just haven't needed to implement it yet. Was planning on tackling it with the nitrous install.

Mark recommended these to me at some point:
http://www.mastercraftsafety.com/limitstraps.php I won't worry about it with my weak engine. |

I just used short rubber stops and a flat plate under the ball joint.

Good idea on the added plate. I have the screw in upper BJ, so I don't have that as a noticable option, but it's an idea I wont dismiss.
Thank you for the limit straps link. I knew I'd heard/read about a flat strap somewhere, I just didn't think to plug the words "strap" into my google searching. My next question would be about how much travel there is. Camcojb, is that with the car's weight sitting on the wheels? Would you guess that makes for about 3" of downward travel?

on my 70 the front of the upper arm hits the frame. i have some thin ~2" dia poly mounts that are going on the frame. im not worried about it while racing though, only for jacking the front end up.
