Default Npb 9.73 @ 137 *vid*

I took the car out to Bradenton fro the Runday Sunday event to take advantage of the great weather. This was the first time back to the ¼ mile since my nitrous was fixed.

I have recently been testing at Sunshine’s 1/8 mile track where I had previously been a best of 6.14 @ 111 with a 1.36 60’ but with more nitrous than I ran Saturday. 83n 83f was the setting then. About 200-225 HP supposedly.

I reduced that back to the 73n 73f 175 HP ? that setting with 6 PSI fp and 30* timing would be considered pretty safe.

Off the trailer the car ran 9.80 here are the incremental.

1.394
4.031
6.243 @ 111.24
8.164
9.804 @ 137.15

On this pass I could feel it roll/rattle the tires and after watching the vid it was clear they needed more air still. I also put in 2 more clicks of compression both sides.

Next hit had the anti roll bar flip. IDK how this can happen but it did. I will be replacing the end links back to the longer ones. I had changed springs and thought the car would sit lower, it didn’t, but I did not think it would be a problem. I was mistaken apparently. LOL After that I tighetened teh compression in the passanger side 4 more clicks and the rebound to 20 clicks on the Drivers side on the reccomndation of a fellow racer.

My third hit was to be a rematch with my buddies Nova except with me getting the hit and I messed up the launch and pushed the beam, he left and I shut off and got back in line to get a proper pass.

This one felt good all the way and I didn’t feel the tires shudder much.if any. I think the vid shows I still need more air though.

1.391
3.972
6.178 @ 111.26
8.098
9.738 @ 137.27

After I got back the tires were at 13 and 13.5, I cant remember which was which but need to take this into consideration next time out.

I have to thank TRZ Motorsports, RockStar Performance and Ed and crew at Trans R Us. For taking care of the repairs. I just got the trans freshened up last week after hearing some noise. Turns out the pump bushing was bad, some end play issues in the back of it and high gear was burnt up. I had no idea about high gear. Next time out I will try some 295 MT Radials but I don’t have a progressive so we will see how it goes.

Vid Inside Here

Anyone have suggestions on shock settings please comment.

A full TRZ front set up is in the works FYI. I know I need it, just build time and time to make the swap. The current set up has about 3 inches of upward travel.

The roll bar flipped?

First and third looked okay. That second launch was crazy...

I'm not sure about the shock settings, but 2 things I can see. Lower the nose of the car and take your time staging.

The front suspension looks already extended and the front end travel is pointing the front tires in wierd directions. Lower the car and then jack it up a couple of inches and align the front end at what height it will be going down track. This will eliminate air drag and tire scrub as the car goes down track.

As far as staging, you roll in so deep and so fast there is probably .03 just in how deep you stage. That second pass it looked like you were going to put the top light out. Light the top bulb and stop. Take your time and bump in until the bottom bulb just lights.

Rob - That is sweet! The 2nd run looks a little crazy, but you are flying!

I've never been to Sunshine, since the 1/8 doesn't seem to satisfy my speed bug enough. Is Sunshine a pretty good track (compared to BMP)? I've done Lakeland and don't have enough brakes to do that again.

Thanks, yes I went in deep as I was needing to cut a light on my boy for the friendly grudge match.

thanks everyone for the compliments

here are a couple of pics from the last outing where I ran the times I posted above

I upgraded the feed line to -6 and moved the purge around to simplify things. I am going back to Bradenton Sunday (tomorrow) for some more testing. I also stepped up the plate to 83 jets, pulled 2 degrees of timing and dropped a heat range to -9 NGK plugs still gapped about .028. I will post results and video in another thread. I am thinking it could run 9.5's @ 140 before the day is over.

Outstanding car, and great runs! Looks like the car and the launches would greatly benefit from one of the bolt-in anti-roll bars available (HRpartNstuff, BMRfabrication, Spohn Performance). My guess is that the weld-in ones aren't allowed in some race classes, but I'd like to think that the bolt-in ones are, and from what I've seen, the bolt-in ones work just fine in 9 second and 10 second cars.

It's got a TRZ bar in it, this is what it looks like without a bar.
