Default Traction spray in a bottle?

Does anybody know of something you can buy that you can spray on your slicks before a pass for better traction? And if so does it work?

I think you can still buy VHT traction compound and brush it on the tires, but there really has been no need for it anymore. It is real messy.

Local dirt track racers used to soak their race tires in VHT before a race. Some street racers still use it too. I know you can buy VHT but, don't know if you can buy it in small quantities. Might check Summit or Jegs. Seems like they used to carry it.

Have you used it or just get it? I talked to a guy today about it and he claims it works well. He said to put it in front of the tires once you roll through the water and do the burnout through the juice. Claims the hotter the tires get the better it grips.

Back in the day we would put it in squirt bottles (like the ones ya get rear end fluid in).....water burnout....pull up...squirt a line of VHT (parallel to tire) in front of tire...roll in...spin em up a couple times...launch like nobodies business

i was told by an old timer that guys used to soak their bias-ply tires in bug and tar remover.

also was told they used to use a 4cyl vega converter behind a sb and in front of a powerglide. was something like a home made 4k stall... HAHA

I've heard of the VEga converter too....

They used to use this stuff called "Moose Juice" at the 1/8th mile track we used to go to...

I used it on the street (slicks and a/s street radial tires) but not at the track. I would assume it would act about the same way at the track.

Yes, you put it infront of the tires and roll into it and burnout. Yes, the hotter it gets, the stickier it gets...on your paint. It doesnt do too much for the tires. With slicks it does coat the tire decently, but once you roll out of the patch you were burning out on it does lose a lot of the grip.

I semi-remember a magazine article that showed someone rigging one of those home depot lawn sprayers to put down a stripe of VHT in front of both back tires. I think the sprayer was in the back seat and t-d off to nozzles on each side.

I'm not sure, but I think it was Rowdy's car.

We used to run wiper fluid nozzles over the rear tire and fill the container up with your choice off sticky juice. Right before the burn out you just hit a button and go.
Back in the day it worked pretty good on the street also. Kart racers also have many recipies for some nasty tire juice.

That pimp juice is good stuff. Its a bit more than just your typical VHT its a special concoction. I have witnessed guys pulling major wheelies on the street using that stuff. The stuff is made my some local street racers.
