I'm just looking for a second opinion before I get a cam ground...hopefully UDHarold chimes in
![]() 72 Chevelle 505 BBC Team G intake 10.8 compression Canfield 310 heads Richmond 5spd w/ OD 3.90 ratio in rearend tires are 26.5 inches on 17 inch rims, about a foot wide. Due to the budget...a Solid Flat Tappet Cam I havent gotten rockers yet so 1.7's, 1.8's or a combo of the two can be used. The car will be a steet driver with occasional strip. I want the most I can get out of it without SEVERELY shortening the life of the valvetrain... Which I am aware is already going to be fairly short regardless, but I will do a proper cam break-in, use EDM lifters, and use Brad Penn oil to help it along. Advice is much appreciated! |

Please call Harold here..
(662) 562-4933 and ask him to create a solid lifter copy of a solid roller cam! I figure that he can do it up until the solid rollers get way too big! And then he probably can still but that he will have to increase your lifter foot's diameter!! He made this little solid flat-tappet lifter cam for me b/c I won't run a solid roller cam b/c of being scared of when a lifter will bite the dust! 278/249/161, 110/106, .618" gross lift and it need's .018" hot lash. Think about it for a bit and then compare CC's great old 288AR solid street roller to it!! And if you do call Harold, please say hello from ol' pdq67 for me. pdq67 |

Solid roller,.725/.725 251/261 281/291 on a 110 lsa, or close to that, going in a .030 over 454, iron heads (781's) that will see nitrous on occasion.

I would use this -
Lunati 402A7, but ground on a 112 lsa, installed at 108 icl. It will give you a pump gas friendly 8.1 DCR. Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 288/296 Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 255/263 Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .612/.630 HERE is what it sounds like in a 496.
