The guy that won the Limited street class of tonight's shootout race wasn't the fastest, didn't do much af a wheelie, or run the quickest pass. He did run the same times in all three of his runs and cut real good lights. The guy who does the biggest wheelie usually looses the race from my experiences.

Yes that's true, but the wheelies are real crowd pleasers, so I guess it boils down to how much of a showman the driver wants to be. Some guys are more competitive, and only want the trophies and/or the purse money, while others are showmen, and are the crowd pleasers. That's why the driver back in the 90's Nick Scavo always wowed the crowd whereever he went with his black wheelstanding 4,000 LB 65 Impala that ran in the mid 8's. But there's nothing wrong with either approach IMO. Just different preferences.

Billy, i have a friend that i have gone to the races with a couple of times this year that has a low 10 second '69 Camaro S/S car. He has those AFCO shocks. His car wheelstands every run about like Dennis' Chevelle. The AFCO's have started to leak after about a dozen runs, so they may or may not be the answer. They also bounce a little after the initial landing, may so it might take a lot of experimenting to find the right settings or maybe a front spring change. It usually goes 1.36 sixty foots. If it had a little more power it might carry the wheelstand to a softer landing, something like Bob's would be fine.
